A Blog Entry About Blogging

I've noticed a lot of people have moved past blogging. I actually still enjoy doing it but I'm usually too busy to write when ideas come to me. I want to get back into it though.

Teenage Sexual Politics

When I was in junior high I made the following observations:

- if a guy gets laid a lot, he is cool

- if a girl gets laid a lot, she is a "slut"

- the worst thing a person can be is a homosexual

So let me get this straight... guys should be out there fucking and girls should not. By that reasoning, guys should only have each other to fuck... yet it's bad to be gay.

Something here does not add up!

I'd ask Ube to get in a Heartbreakers cover band with me, but neither of us will ever be truly qualified to do those songs.

Let's hope.

Not the greatest band name I've ever heard, but wow. I've been into them for a few years now, but the more I listen, the more awesome they sound. I think of indie rock bands in the 80s and 90s who were thought of as cutting edge, and I hear their sounds in this early-70s german group.

I also like their no-nonsense approach to album art.

A Golden Moment

I was listening to this album on the way home from work and just as I stepped onto the bus, Bob sang "the bus will get you there yet".

I smiled. Maybe I'll try and rekindle interest in that cover band...

When I Feel Like It, That's When!

I've been asked twice over the past few months how long I plan to keep doing my Saturday night radio show. Now, no offence to the people who asked, but I have to say that question hurts my feelings a little. It carries a clear subtext of "aren't you a little old for that?". Well, no, I'm not.

Doing my show is fun. Not only do I feel that it betters me as a person, I also feel like I'm doing a service for others and it's really satisfying. I can think of a few volunteer programmers considerably older than I who would echo this sentiment. I put a lot of thought into my show and I'm very proud of it.

Twelve years and counting, motherfuckers!!!
